The Hidden Costs of Legacy WMS Solutions
Many companies continue to rely on legacy Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) without realizing the true costs involved
The IFOY Award is one of the most important honors in intralogistics – and this year, Pyck has been named Startup of the Year.
We could not be prouder. For us, this award is far more than just a trophy. Above all, it shows that our vision for intralogistics is arriving at exactly the right time.
The International Intralogistics and Forklift Truck of the Year Award (IFOY) is not handed out lightly. This year, 49 applications from around the world were submitted. However, only 13 solutions from eight countries made it to the final round.
In addition, every nominated product must pass a demanding audit. As part of this process, a scientific innovation check examines functionality, market relevance, and, most importantly, real customer value.
That is exactly why this recognition means so much to us. Succeeding in such a competitive and hands-on environment shows us one thing clearly: Pyck solves a real problem.
Many companies in intralogistics face a clear challenge: their software dictates how warehouse processes have to work. As soon as requirements change, things often become complicated, rigid, and expensive.
This is where Pyck takes a different approach. Instead of forcing companies to adapt to software, we build software that adapts to the real workflows on site.
As a result, our customers gain more flexibility and more independence. So the fact that this practical approach has now been recognized with the IFOY Award strongly confirms that we are on the right path.
“This award confirms our belief that people will definitely be hearing a lot more from us in the future.”
Max, Co-Founder of Pyck

The IFOY jury did not just evaluate our software. It also captured the current direction of the industry remarkably well.
“Artificial intelligence has arrived in intralogistics – as a pragmatic tool with clear benefits, not as an end in itself. It is no longer only start-ups that are delivering disruptive solutions: established manufacturers, hidden champions, and mid-sized companies are showing what innovation looks like today.”
Anita Wurmser, Chair of the IFOY Jury
We feel this momentum too. That is why the award ceremony in Stuttgart on June 25 was such a special moment for us.
At the ceremony, our founders Max and Matthias had the honor of accepting the trophy. At the same time, they were able to have many exciting conversations with industry experts.
The feedback on site was outstanding. Moreover, it was impossible to miss just how much attention the IFOY Award is receiving right now.
“The energy in Stuttgart was incredible. We had great conversations and met many inspiring people. At the same time, you could really feel the significance of the IFOY Award. A lot of people are talking about it right now, and we can hardly wait to use this momentum to continue our journey with full energy.”
Matthias, Co-Founder of Pyck
Awards like this are never won alone. That is why we want to thank the IFOY jury for the intensive audit process. We also want to thank our fantastic team, who give their all every single day.
Of course, our thanks also go to our partners and customers. Without their trust, this journey would not be possible.
For us, this award is not the finish line. On the contrary, it marks the start of the next phase. We still have a lot ahead of us – and that is exactly what excites us most.
